Christopher Steele, the former British spy who authored the hoax dossier alleging ties between President Trump and Russia, has refused to cooperate with the Department of Justice’s investigation into the origins of the Obama administration’s spying on then-candidate Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

According to Reuters, Steele has said he will not answer questions from Attorney John Durham, who was recently appointed by Attorney General William Barr to examine the probe’s origins.

In 2016, Steele was hired by Fusion GPS, paid for by the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign to dig up dirt on President Trump.

Steele’s dossier was also used by the FBI to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on members of the Trump campaign.
