Iran Looks To Restore Its Nuclear Industry

Iran is assessing damage to its nuclear industry and arrangements had been made for its restoration, Iran's nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami said on Tuesday according to Mehr news, after a series of Israeli and U.S. strikes targeted Iran's main nuclear facilities. "The plan is to prevent interruptions in the process of production and services," Eslami said. Trump posted on Truth Social: "IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES!"

Trump Says Both Israel And Iran Violated Ceasefire

President Donald Trump says Israel and Iran violated ceasefire terms by carrying out attacks against each other after an early Tuesday deadline to stop hostilities. Trump, in comments to reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO summit at The Hague, expressed disappointment over the continued attacks. “They violated it, but Israel violated it, too,” Trump said. He added, ”I’m not happy with Israel." “I didn't like the fact that Israel unloaded right after we made the deal," Trump said. “And now I hear Israel just went out because they felt violated by one rocket that didn’t land anywhere.” The Republican president expressed deep disappointment with both sides after holding out the agreement he helped broker as validation for his strategic gamble of ordering U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Iran would stop its attacks if Israel would. And Israel also confirmed that it had reached its aims of its operations and would cease hostilities. But the tentative truce faltered Tuesday when Israel accused Iran of launching missiles into its airspace after the ceasefire was supposed to take effect and vowed to retaliate. Iran’s military denied firing on Israel, state media reported, but explosions boomed and sirens sounded across northern Israel midmorning, and an Israeli military official said two Iranian missiles were intercepted. Trump's frustration was palpable as he spoke to reporters, using an expletive to hammer home his point. “I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran, either, but I’m really unhappy with Israel going out this morning,” Trump said. “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f—- they’re doing.” The president then took to his Truth Social platform to warn Israel to end its attacks. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION,” Trump posted. “BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

Powell Says Fed Can Wait To Reduce Interest Rates As Trump Demands Cuts

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: "“Too Late” Jerome Powell, of the Fed, will be in Congress today in order to explain, among other things, why he is refusing to lower the Rate. Europe has had 10 cuts, we have had ZERO. No inflation, great economy - We should be at least two to three points lower. Would save the USA 800 Billion Dollars Per Year, plus. What a difference this would make. If things later change to the negative, increase the Rate. I hope Congress really works this very dumb, hardheaded person, over. We will be paying for his incompetence for many years to come. THE BOARD SHOULD ACTIVATE. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Supreme Court Allows Migrants To Be Deported To Non-Homeland Countries

The Supreme Court is allowing the Trump administration to restart swift removals of migrants to countries other than their homelands. In a 6-3 ruling, justices lifted for now a lower court order requiring the migrants get a chance to challenge their deportations. The high court’s action comes after last month’s deportation of eight people to South Sudan before they had a chance to argue they could be in danger if sent away from their home countries. The migrants from countries including Myanmar, Vietnam and Cuba had been convicted of serious crimes in the U-S and immigration officials have said they were unable to return them quickly to their home countries.

Alleged Iranian Missile Barrage Strikes Israel After Ceasefire Goes Into Effect

A tentative truce proposed by President Donald Trump hung in the balance as Israel said Iran had launched missiles into its airspace less than three hours after a ceasefire went into effect and vowed to retaliate. Explosions boomed and sirens sounded across northern Israel midmorning on Tuesday, after both Israel and Iran on Tuesday accepted the ceasefire plan to end the 12-day war roiling the Middle East. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called the missiles a violation of the ceasefire and instructed Israel's military to resume “the intense operations to attack Tehran and to destroy targets of the regime and terror infrastructure.” The shaky agreement was announced early Tuesday morning after Tehran launched a retaliatory limited missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar on Monday. Between Trump's post and the start of the ceasefire, Israel launched a blitz of airstrikes targeting sites across Iran before dawn and Iran replied with an onslaught of missiles that killed at least four people in Israel early Tuesday morning. Israel said it had intercepted the midmorning barrage of missiles that came hours into the truce. “Tehran will tremble” Israel's Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich wrote on X after the missiles were launched. Iran's military denies firing missiles at Israel after ceasefire started, Iranian state television says.

Trump Announces Ceasefire Between Israel And Iran

President Donald Trump says on social media that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire” to be phased in over 24 hours. The U.S. president said late Monday on Truth Social that the ceasefire would bring an “Official END” to the war, a major change in the hostilities that follows a U.S. strike over the weekend on three Iranian nuclear sites. Trump says, “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’"

Speaker Johnson Insists Trump Has Authority To Take Action Against Iran

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson dismissed efforts on Monday by lawmakers to advance a measure to check President Donald Trump's use of military force against Iran, after Tehran said it carried out a missile attack on the Al Udeid U.S. airbase in Qatar. Asked whether he would allow the House of Representatives to vote on a bipartisan resolution, Johnson told reporters: "I don't think this is an appropriate time for war powers resolution, and I don't think it's necessary." Republican Representative Thomas Massie and Democratic Representative Ro Khanna introduced their resolution days before Trump ordered U.S. strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday and have since claimed that the president's actions require congressional authorization. Iran's military said on Monday that it carried out a missile attack on U.S. forces in Qatar, where explosions were heard across the capital. Democratic Senator Tim Kaine has introduced a similar resolution in the Senate that he said lawmakers could vote on as early as this week. "Our War Powers Resolution has 57 cosponsors. Whether you like it or not, Congress will be voting on U.S. hostilities in Iran," Massie said in a post on the social media platform X earlier on Monday. Johnson and other Republicans insist that Trump had the authority to take unilateral action against Iran to eliminate a potential nuclear threat to the United States and other countries. "The President made an evaluation that the danger was imminent enough to take his authority as commander in chief and make that happen," the speaker said.

U.S. Confirms No Casualties From Iran’s Attack On Base In Qatar

Iran launched a missile attack Monday on a U.S. military base in Qatar, retaliating for the American bombing of its nuclear sites. The attack came shortly after Qatar closed its airspace as a precaution amid threats from Iran. The U.S. confirmed the air base in Qatar was targeted by a missile attack from Iran and said no casualties were reported. Iran said its Monday night missile attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar matched the number of bombs dropped by the United States on its nuclear sites this weekend, signaling its likely desire to deescalate.
