President Donald Trump is signing an executive order that will restrict transgender troops from serving in the military.

The new order requires Pete Hegseth — the Secretary of Defense — to "end the use of invented and identification-based pronouns, prioritize readiness and lethality" in their medical standards and restrict sleeping, changing and bathing facilities to one’s biological sex.

The order is not immediate – but one in which directs Hegseth to implement the policies. It also revokes Joe Biden's previous order that accommodated ‘gender identity’ in the military, and enhances a directive issued last week by Trump, revoking a Biden order allowing transgender people to serve in the military.

In Trump’s inauguration speech, he recognized that there are only two genders: male and female.
